Frequently Asked Questions

  • I offer individual, couples, and grief therapy, along with support for those dealing with sexual or porn addiction. My work is trauma-informed and draws from evidence-based approaches including Interpersonal Neurobiology, Attachment Theory and research, Somatic Intervention Therapy, and the Gottman Method.

For those interested in a Biblical perspective, I also offer Christian-based therapy.

  • Yes. All sessions are conducted online through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. If you live anywhere in California, you can access therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

  • I do not accept insurance directly and am not on any HMO panels. If you have HMO coverage, you’ll need to contact your provider and ask for a list of in-network therapists. Unfortunately, HMO plans typically do not reimburse for out-of-network services like mine.

If you'd like to use your insurance, I'm happy to provide you with a 'Super Bill' that you can give to your insurance provider to seek reimbursement for therapy services. Please be aware, depending on your Provider and specific plan, they may or may not accept your claim, and typically determine the amount of reimbursement after your first claim is submitted. Further, it typically takes at least 4 weeks before you will receive any reimbursement.

  • Individuals - 50 minutes

Couples - 90 minutes to two hours

For those couples who are interested in getting off to a fast start, I offer “intensive” sessions that range from 4-6 hours for the first two to four sessions

  • The first session is about getting clarity and helping you feel comfortable and safe with me. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’re struggling with, and what you hope to change. There’s no pressure to tell your whole story. Just bring what feels most urgent or most real right now, and we’ll go from there.

  • Going forward, we meet weekly to make sure you get the results you’re looking for. Once your results become more consistent and you feel more confident, we’ll move to bi-monthly; bi-monthly to monthly.

If you’re unable/unwilling to commit to starting with weekly sessions, I’m not the right therapist for you.

Typically patients are in treatment for at least three months before it is appropriate to reduce meeting frequency because it takes that long to establish new patterns. And without new patterns you will not get the results you want. If you choose to reduce treatment frequency earlier than recommended, you are risking your own ability to achieve and maintain the results you want. At best you are slowing down the speed at which you’ll achieve results and increasing your own frustration.

  • Many of my patients come to me after trying therapy that felt too impersonal, aimless, unhelpful, or too passive. My approach is research-based, structured, and direct, while compassionate. You’ll get real tools, honest feedback, and a clear path forward. I focus on implementation - not just talk. But don’t take my word for it - read the stories of other patients just like you throughout this site.

  • Yes. I regularly work with professionals, business owners, community leaders, and individuals in high-visibility roles. Privacy, discretion, and emotional safety are always prioritized in this work.
